The Maine Pops Flute Choir - one of 10 small ensembles of the Maine Pops Concert Band - will renew their long-standing connection with Scarborough's St. Nicholas Episcopal Church when the ensemble participates in church services slated for Sunday, November 15 at 9:30 a.m. in Scarborough.

The flute ensemble has performed at numerous church services at St. Nicholas, augmenting religious services for the congregation. Those wishing to attend services at St. Nicholas to see and hear the ensemble are welcome.

In addition to the Maine Pops Flute Choir, the Polished Brass Ensemble and the Harbor Brass Quintet have also participated in providing music to church services at St. Nicholas Episcopal Church. This is the first public performance of the flute choir since the 2026-2027 performance season began.

The Harbor Brass Quintet - one of 10 Maine Pops Concert Band small ensembles - will conduct three hour-long holiday performances at the Portland International Jetport arrival hall near baggage claim. Concert dates are December 4 at 4 p.m., December 12 at noon, and December 14 at 4 p.m.

The three holiday gigs are an extension of the four performances by Harbor Brass at the jetport this summer. Trumpeters Larry Langmore and Nate Caron, trombonist Jim McDonough, French horn player Alison McCarty and tuba player Tom Mackie will greet holiday travelers with a variety of holiday works for brass quintet.

There is no charge to attend sessions at the arrival hall (you still have to pay for airport parking).

The Maine Pops Concert Band will again perform the national anthems of Canada and the United States during pre-game ceremonies prior to the February 21 contest between the Maine Mariners and the Trois-Rivieres Lions in an ECHL hockey game at Cross Insurance Arena in Portland, ME. This will be third straight year the band has performed during pre-game ceremonies and the second time it’s performed “O Canada” and the “The Star-Spangled Banner” from the ice surface.

The Maine Pops Concert Band will again the United States during pre-game ceremonies prior to the March 21 contest between the Maine Celtics and the Delaware Blue Coats in an NBA G-League basketball game at the Portland Expo in Portland, ME. This will be the second year the band has performed during pre-game ceremonies from the Expo’s center court.
