Clarinet Chromatics add a Woodwinds Touch to Scarborough Church Service
Five members of the Clarinet Chromatics - one of eight active Maine Pops Concert Band small ensembles - participated in church services held October 18 at St. Nicholas Episcopal Church in Scarborough, ME.
Clarinetists Ann Gallant Colomy, Alie Teitz, Kathleen Martin, Kat Snyder and Bob Swerdlow performed during the Sunday morning church service as part of the band's outreach to community organizations and activities.
With the holiday season fast approaching, many of the Maine Pops small ensembles are looking to perform at churches, community centers, airports, and other venues to spread the holiday cheer in Southern Maine through November and December. In addition to Clarinet Chromatics, the Maine Pops has the follow ensembles available:
The Beach Street Big Band (big band)
Harbor Brass Quintet (brass quintet)
Polished Brass (brass ensemble)
The Maine Pops Flute Choir
Quince (woodwind quintet)
Uniquehorns (French horn ensemble)
Tubby Tones (euphonium and tuba ensemble)
Organizations interested in having a Maine Pops Concert Band ensemble perform for their community event should contact Diane McClanahan, the band's small ensemble coordinator at dianemcclanahan420@gmail.com.
(The Down East Jazz Combo and the Maine Pops Saxophone Ensemble are currently inactive through the end of 2026.)
