Polished Brass conducts inaugural “Echoes Across the Water” concert at Raymond’s Camp Timanous.
The inaugural "Echoes Across the Water" performance by the Maine Pops Concert Band's Polished Brass ensemble brought nearly 130 concert goers on shore, and additional audience members on 14 boats off the shore of Camp Timanous on August 26 in Raymond, ME.
Although the ensemble has performed in a pair of Maine Pops small ensembles concerts and selected church services, this was the Polished Brass' first public concert. The nine-member brass ensemble performed 13 musical pieces before an audience of Maine Lakes Region residents and vacationers during the hour-long performance.

Members of the ensemble for this performance were Diane Wilson McClanahan (French Horn), Barbara Vladenides Wolejko (French horn), Jim McDonough (trombone), Jonathan Bosse (euphonium), Matt Chin (tuba), Peter Flournoy (trumpet), Rosario Cordoglio (trumpet), Judee Davis (trumpet) and Arthur McClanahan (trumpet).
Many thanks to John Suitor and his staff at Camp Timanous for hosting the concert by Panther Pond. Suitor said the camp just completed its 109th year of events in early August and saw the concert to bring the local Raymond community together for an evening of entertainment.
The Maine Pops has two more small ensemble performances remaining before the full concert band resumes rehearsals on September 9 in Scarborough.
Uniquehorns - the band's French horn ensemble - will conduct their second annual Panther Pond "Pon-tunes" concert from a pontoon boat on Saturday, August 29 starting at 6 p.m. in Raymond.
On September 8, the band's Harbor Brass Quintet, will perform at 4:30 p.m. from the roof of Patriot Subaru in Saco in support of the "Kevin on the Roof" fundraiser for STRIVE.
The Maine Pops Concert Band is a 501(c)3 tax-exempt educational non-profit organization, with a mission to build community through music.
