The Maine Pops Concert Band’s will kick off its Fall concert season rehearsals on Wednesday, September 3 at Ketcha Outdoors in Scarborough (SHS) from 7 to 9 p.m. It will also hold a second rehearsal at Ketcha on September 10.
The band normally rehearses at the SHS band room every Wednesday evening from September to June during the school year from 7 to 9 p.m. This year, the band will resume sessions at SHS on Wednesday, September 17 at 7 p.m. As always, there will be adjustments to the rehearsal schedule as the local Scarborough schools conduct their own music and theater programs at the high school and middle school levels. The Maine Pops will take all steps necessary to coordinate alternate venues and inform the membership of rehearsal site changes in advance.
The Maine Pops Concert Band continues its recruitment of local musicians to join or rejoin the band. The band now has over 100 musicians registered. No auditions are required, but the band is now concentrating on filling specific instrumental voids within sections.
